Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)

Having a First Aid trained Personnel at the workplace is a requirement of Health and Safety Law. First Aiders knowledge and skill can prevent situations from developing and resulting in further complications.

ABC Paramedic Services and First Aid Training can offer you the HSE approved Emergency First Aid at Work Training Course.

This course, tailored to suit the audience, includes both theoretical knowledge and practical sessions, delivered in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The course is designed to have everyone participating and enjoying themselves, but most importantly, to provide students with the confidence to cope with real life emergency situations.

Overview

The Emergency First Aid at Work Training Course is run over 1 day and provides those wishing to receive training in Emergency First Aid and is especially suited for nominated First Aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.

Syllabus

Acting safely, promptly, and effectively with emergencies at work (First Aid Priorities)
Using first aid equipment, including the contents of a first aid box
Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulation
Managing an incident
The priorities of First Aid
Treatment of an unconscious patient
Resuscitation

Recognising and responding appropriately to:

  • Unconsciousness
  • Shock
  • Bleeding
  • Common Workplace Injuries

Qualification 

Upon successful completion of this course, candidates will receive certification which allows them to practice Emergency First Aid at work for three years.
